I think OSU's and WSU's argument is that the other ten schools have ceded their rights to the conference name because they've announced they are moving to other conferences. That the other ten schools want to deprive OSU and WSU of using the Pac-12 name just seems mean-spirited to me. If those schools wanted to dissolve the conference, they should have taken such action before they bolted for the exits.
I have no special knowledge but the stuff about damages seems like bullshit they are throwing up in order to reach a walk away settlement in which they are handed all of the PAC 12 marks/IP
