Stubhub question.

Has anyone sold tickets on stubhub? I'm getting No 3 tickets for this bday to the NLDS game 1 or 2 in case the Dodgers win the Wild Card game. But if they lose, I'll sell them on stub hub. I figure I should at least be able to break even. Are there seller fees or is it just the buyer that pays the fees?

heyalumnigo's avatar

oh convenient. It looks like I can list them on stubhub directly from the Giants ticket page. At least I can break even. Got tickets on the upper deck in the last section on the left field like right in the corner. Got them for 140 each. They're listed on stubhub for 190. Not sure what the seller fees are right now. I figure if I list them for 160 on Thurs if the Dodgers lose I'll break even and can sell quickly.

There are fees but it is super easy

heyalumnigo's avatar

Yeah that's what I noticed. It seems even easier for Giants tickets because you can list directly from their ticket page. I figure it should be easy to get at least my money back on them.

They've gone to plaid!

Fastest production model vehicle, the Model S Plaid

heyalumnigo's avatar

I certainly wouldn't mind one of these.

Cugel's avatar

eh, fastest to 1/4 mile etc..., but not the fastest car by any means.

CruzinBears's avatar

Fastest “production model car” by one metric. But a sub 3 sec 0-60 should get you going quite nicely ahead of the competition.

Not my favorite Radiohead album, but an auditory masterpiece. That album really rewards an excellent pair of headphones or quality set of speakers. The sound mixing and sound quality are phenomenal.

Landing. Fake or real? I’m asking for qriend.

In all seriousness, how and why did this become a conspiracy theory? What’s the benefit?

In my Cal days, Sun Myung Moon was a thing. I remember sitting near the Campanile and seeing airplanes writing his name in the sky.

dcblue's avatar

I don't remember the skywriting, but I do remember invitations to weekend seminars by a group I later realized was the moonies.

MLB will have to find another blind person after Joe West announces his retirement

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/32338710/record-breaking-umpire-joe-west-retire-postseason

heyalumnigo's avatar

Of course he'll ruin the WC game...

FiatSlug's avatar

Umpires are whipping boys for the fans. They are objects of derision and scorn on a baseball diamond.

Umpires are kind of like offensive linemen - usually unnoticed until something bad happens.

Newellbany's avatar

I often defend umpires - it's a tough job. I do not defend Joe West. He thinks fans pay to see him.

FiatSlug's avatar

No, he doesn't. He's being sarcastic.

O.Overall's avatar

He is a real prick, agree

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Whether they're pricks or not, the home plate umpiring this season has been brutal...we're one season closer to the cyclops machine calling balls and strikes.

O.Overall's avatar

I think robot umpires is a legit possibility.

I was discussing with some friends that MLB should stop playing exhibition games in London as it is kind of a mindless imitation of NFL that makes no sense in light of market saturation and time zones. MLB should focus to the south instead. Games in Mexico City, Guadalajara, etc. with an eye toward four new teams in next 20ish years - two in Mexico and two in Caribbean

heyalumnigo's avatar

I had forgotten that the MLB played in London. I do remember when they played in Australia. I think that trip is what caused Kershaw to start having back problems. He never had them until after that trip. I think it's kinda cool to go around the world as a 1 off series.

4 Latin American teams would be pretty cool but only if they add 2 US teams. The uneven teams in each league thing is annoying. I think either you do 2 US + 4 Latin American teams or just 2 Latin American teams.

O.Overall's avatar

That’s a good point, should get to even numbers. Or maybe just realign in some different way

heyalumnigo's avatar

I guess if NL adds the DH (which they shouldn't) then there is no reason for the NL/AL separation. MLB umpires are no longer separate by league.

I still would prefer the NL not having the DH.

AndyPanda's avatar

Gawd, please PLEASE don't delay the DH in the NL any longer. Been decades too long already.

dcblue's avatar

Yanks or Sox. Who ya got? I'm thinking Yanks but am not a fan of either team.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Exactly...I’m rooting for a blimp accident...no casualties, but plenty of short-term IL stints that forces the cancellation of yet another Bucky Dent game.

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

Yankees ... going to go w/ local team

heyalumnigo's avatar

Just say NO to local teams.

Newellbany's avatar

I'm gonna look at the bright side: one of those two terrible teams will be eliminated tonight, and it might even be the Yankees!

O.Overall's avatar

Yanks are probably better but Boston can really hit. I’ll say like 10-9 Boston, for the yucks. I don’t think either team makes it to the LCS

After a significant delay due to lightning in LA...Chargers vs. Raiders score: Justin Herbert tosses three TDs as L.A. hands Las Vegas first loss of season

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/chargers-vs-raiders-score-justin-herbert-tosses-three-tds-as-l-a-hands-las-vegas-first-loss-of-season/live/

Berkelium97's avatar

A lightning delay...at an indoor venue. You don't see that very often.

Newellbany's avatar

Does anybody know why lightening caused a delay in a dome? Real question - not a set-up for a joke.

GoldenSD81's avatar

It isn’t a fully enclosed dome. It has open air sides to the stadium so I believe that was the main concern and reason for the delay.

Newellbany's avatar

could lightening really come down and turn, like, 90 degrees to get under the roof and zap somebody?

heyalumnigo's avatar

I mean if a magic loogie could hit Keith Hernandez...

Cugel's avatar

YES! It happened in our home in Alabama, hit the TV, and turned it on permanently!

GoldenSD81's avatar

I don’t know. The unclosed areas aren’t under the roof directly but more where they fans sit. I believe the outdoor areas have walkways that would expose people to potential lightning strikes. In San Diego, we had a ton of lightning strikes yesterday all over the city and county. It was very impressive.

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

it looked like the Raiders were poised for a comeback, but it sort of fizzled in the 4th Q.

I'm guessing they removed all the new articles that the new guys wrote. Not sure why though.
