So I saw the conversation the other day. It was a warning, but it got a little out of control with the emergence of Bear19. But did Bob post anything after that which caused a ban? If so, I wonder what he posted.

I don't think I need to post here why links *without* context are prohibited by the guidelines. However, I don't think BobR understands the reason or the basis for that guideline. And he earned a (temporary?) ban because he became obstinate, clearly.
Websites have administrators for a reason, and those administrators can suspend or ban bad actors to maintain community standards and/or prevent undermining of the website.
Personally, I wondered why a suspension hadn't already taken place when I saw the thread.
And it's not just the links. We wouldn't be so annoyed by the links if he hadn't been commenting the way he did for all these years, although SI link postings got really bad in itself.
He has been posting SI links into various WFC posts without any context. For example, SI game summary links in the WFC game summary link. SI links is his new wiki link. He was then told that he should add in a description of how the link contributed to the conversation. But I think he felt like he didn't need to do that. Perhaps there was other out of band discussion with him and mods.

He capitulated later as this site is his only social outlet and we all know he does not want to be banned. He tried his hand at Rivals and was laughed/ shamed/ bullied out of the building over there.

Path Forward. I know their work with the homeless in Arlington. Used to be a bunch of folks living on the streets that I came to know when I came and went in the neighborhood. Path Forward has helped most of them get into subsidized housing so I don't see much of my friends anymore.
It's a peer-to-peer portal where you can request or prepare a lasagna for someone in need. You may not be able to save solve world hunger, but you can certainly help out someone who could use a helping hand.

Bear running back John Olszewksi ran for 122 yards on 25 carries which gave him 2,504 for his career, a conference record. The game also made TV broadcast history. A power outage at the start of the second half blacked out KRON-TV’s telecast for six minutes so the station cut to the U$C-UCLA game for a few minutes. This marked the first time in the U.S. that parts of two different games had been shown on the same day in the same area. The victory gave California seven wins against three losses and dropped the Lobsterbacks to 5-5. But it was an end of an era being the last of six winning seasons at Cal for head coach Pappy Waldorf. Sounds like Cal in the Capital (summer internship in DC), but UCDC runs during the academic year.
If I am reading their website correctly, it's a 6 month program to do an internship in DC while also taking an elective.
