I never saw it until probably the 90’s on some cable feed. I got a kick out of it and made a point to view again years later, when I could remember on Netflix.
Ah, Molly. I had a crush on Molly Ringwald as a teenager. Incidentally, over the years I had the pleasure of performing at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, a festival that sometimes featured as headliner Molly’s father, Robert, who was an accomplished traditional jazz pianist and one of the Jubilee’s founders.
I recently recalled a conversation I had decades ago with two friends who were, like me, devoted fans of the Sturdy Golden Bears. My two friends were arguing over whether Ebenezer Scrooge would have been a graduate of Stanfurd or U$C. I surprised them by saying that he must have been an Old Blue. I explained that neither a Furdien or a Trojan could have undergone the magical transformation that Scrooge did at the end of A Christmas Carol. My argument carried the day and drinks were purchased for me by both lads. (True story.)
Memphis, Tennessee is one of the world’s great cities for barbecue. They slow-roast meat, with a preference for pork, using giant pits. And what do you need to build those pits? Lots and lots of bricks.
That’s what the Golden State Warriors provided in their 144-93 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday night. A big ol’ pile of bricks. 58 of them spefically, a number that would have been worse had both teams not cleared their benches with a quarter and a half to go.
Women's basketball hosts their tourney this weekend. They take on Fordham Saturday at 5:00, then play the winner of Temple/Xavier Sunday, also at 5:00. You may recall that the women are now ranked 24th in the nation and boast an 11-1 record.

see Joe Don Baker - 1973 movie with Walter Matthau.
I'd seen Charley Varrick, but it was so long ago I didn't remember it.

Did you ever get to meet her? I think I recall seeing she's living in France with her husband and kids.

Never thought I'd see a day where Steph and Dray missed all their shots. OK maybe Draymond, but never Steph. At least Steph made 2 FTs.
