These extraordinary ears each have over 20 muscles that swivel around like satellite dishes to detect sounds of their prey. The tufts may enhance sound going into their ears or be used to communicate—via twitches and other movements—with other caracals.
It was set in a real seedy world...I mean, you wanna take a shower after. But I remember being pleasantly surprised, and the cast was pretty solid.
IMDB users give it a 7.1/10...that’s about accurate, tho I’ve only seen once. That said, I think about it when I pass road signs for the Salton Sea, yet the film made me never wanna go...that tells you something!
JUST IN: Two U.S. Capitol Police officers are injured after a car apparently rammed them at a barricade at the Capitol on Friday afternoon, Capitol Police said.
[CNN] CNN confirmed with several sources that Gaetz showed them videos and photos of nude women he'd slept with, including while being on the House floor.
[NYT] Insider at DOJ leaked to NYT that the investigation has found more than one woman who confirmed that Gaetz paid for sex. It's been going on since 2019 as a sugar-baby thing introduced by Greenberg. There is a trail of emails, ATM withdrawals, motel receipts, and cash-app receipts. Gaetz also took X.
apparently it's been a landmark for clear communication in which they're trying to say the risk for vaccinated people is pretty low and yet the risk to everyone else is still there which seems odd insofar as the benefit of the vaccine appears to be that you're unlikely to catch the 'rona at all after vaccination, far less be an asymptomatic spreader. I'm sure there's some kind of math behind all of this, but it's not intuitively obvious.
Initially the talk was about how the vaccine very much limited the severity if you were infected but didn't stop you from getting infected. Over the last few weeks I think there are studies that show it reduces the likelihood of infection in the first place.
Giants build 5-0 & 6-1 leads in Seattle, then collapse as Kapler makes random wild guess pitching moves with no idea whether who he's bringing in can throw strikes (hint, they couldn't) that not only blow the entire lead in 1 inning, but they fall behind.
SF then gets a solo HR to force extra innings, but then can't bring Longoria in, so Kapler sends out another pitcher who can't throw strikes. Walks the bases full, and then, with no outs and 3 balls in the count, uncorks a backstop ball to walk in the winning run. It was straight out of a bad LL game.
Only 1 game, but it does not look like the Giants did anything about their bullpen (other than maybe make it worse?). Kapler's abilty to mismanage end of game moves appears to be even more clueless as well. (Remember, this is against the Mariners, who attempt to play baseball without bothering to have competent pitching or hitting.)
Being back at the coliseum was great. But in true A's fashion, their mobile food and drink ordering app crashed and no one could get anything to eat or drink. They were slow to open concessions for walk ups and we ended up leaving early to hit the taco truck BECAUSE WE WERE STARVING
Women's Gymnastics advance to the Morgantown Regional Final tomorrow! I'm also DBDing from the WVU Coliseum. It's time to go explore the local food scene though.
[VB] Huskies straight sets over Bears 3-0. Cal's season mercifully ends tomorrow vs. Huskies after winning only 1 match and 11 sets over 21 games. Also, the Pac-12 is good at VB.
Bears got an outside hitter (Makana Meyer) back and nearly stole set 1 before losing 24-26. A moral victory of sort for this weird and very short-handed season.
Yeah, Gonzaga looks way ahead of everyone. USC was destroying all comers and then the Zags just toyed with them. They'd have to play a pretty bad game to lose it at this point.
From Twitter last night: the last text you sent is the title of your memoir. What is it?
Mine is: "If anything can unite this country it's hatred of Ted Cruz."
"Btw, how much moolah did she get?"
An odd memoir title, unless it's referring to something asked of/by Matt Gaetz.
But it was me asking a friend how much his daughter got for her first lost tooth.

Salton Sea
Not an awful film with Val Kilmer...not a great one tho either...did you see it, Cugel?
Metascore 41 😳
No, worth a watch?

Et tu, Oui Oui?
Salton Sea salinity is about 44,000 mg/L, that is approximately 4.4% salt
never been. but Great Salt Lake seems considerably "saltier"
Dead Sea - 337
North Arm - 317
South Arm - 142
Mono Lake - 88 (wouldnt have even guessed it was salty)

Not math I think, but a lack of proof. And you're right, it does seem counter intuitive.

This is more what I grew up with re: Giants bullpen usage. Bochy's good managing spoiled me.
Funny how an outbreak of competence leads to outlandish ideas like it being something that should be continued. Or at least could be.
That was pathetic. This season begins like last season ended...bullpen implosion. Zaidi needs to do better.
I'm going to opening day and they'd better sort it out by then.
Exactly. Gausman was dealing...that's a good sign.
A's drop the opener 8-1.
But Correa got plunked and the crowd loved it.
Kolarek giving up back to back dingers gives him an ERA of 54
Brantley's got out in a blink, and Bregman's was a bomb...can't hit Correa twice, so Alvarez' number was up....that one sounded like it hurt.
Being back at the coliseum was great. But in true A's fashion, their mobile food and drink ordering app crashed and no one could get anything to eat or drink. They were slow to open concessions for walk ups and we ended up leaving early to hit the taco truck BECAUSE WE WERE STARVING

Final Four Predictions also happy Good Friday for anyone who celebrates
Zags-Houston is my pick. Zags win it by 15.
I guess weirder things have happened, but it seems unlikely anything stops the Gonzaga-Baylor clash in the final.
Agree, and I'm dubious anything not involving physical injury will stop the 800 lb. Bulldog in the room then.
I'll be similarly surprised if it isn't Stanford-UConn on the WBB side, though I'm much more uncertain about how that one will go.
Well, I'm pleasantly surprised with Arizona's 10 point win over UConn All Pac-12 Championship game.
Yeah, Gonzaga looks way ahead of everyone. USC was destroying all comers and then the Zags just toyed with them. They'd have to play a pretty bad game to lose it at this point.
