The rosefinches are a genus, Carpodacus, of passerine birds in the finch family Fringillidae. Most are called "rosefinches" and as the word implies, have various shades of red in their plumage. The genus name is from Ancient Greek karpos, "fruit" and dakno, "to bite”.

The owner also claims he didn't do anything wrong and denies driving away with the tiger, despite owning a tiger where it is not legal to own one, evading arrest, and video evidence of him driving away with the tiger. He was arrested earlier this week.
