You put the balm on? Who told you to put the balm on? I didn't tell you to put the balm on. Why'd you put the balm on? You haven't even been to see the doctor. If you're gonna put a balm on, let a doctor put the balm on.
..I'll tell you what this is, a public humiliation!
My father literally got addicted to lip balm. His body stopped producing moisture for his lips, which mean the skin would crack then peel off. He looked like a burn victim with smooth flat pink lips with undefined edges before he could wean himself off the balm. Because of that, our family only uses it for temporary emergencies (eg, skiing, beach).
This is controversial. Some say it doesn't exist. All I know is what I see. When he used it, he looked like Jim Carrey's Fire Marshall Bill. When he didn't he healed up. Some say it is fake news, like Scootie's MSG narrative.
so, I have a high school friend who has a skin allergy to one of the sunscreen chemicals in lip balm, so his lips always get red and irritated from most kinds. Before he knew about the allergy, he would just apply more because, well, his lips were irritated!
Were you the one who dislikes Burt's Bees? Because I, too, found that my lips were MORE chapped after using their lip balm. My current favorites are a lip balm that my friend made and the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I use one of them every night after I brush my teeth, but don't otherwise apply lip balm.
We're at the point where people that grew up loving these cars have good income and have the money to buy them and fix them up or buy good versions of them, further bringing the prices up. <raises hand.gif>

"Twice in the final months of the Trump administration, the country’s top military officer was so fearful that the president’s actions might spark a war with China that he moved urgently to avert armed conflict.
In a pair of secret phone calls, Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, assured his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army, that the United States would not strike, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward and national political reporter Robert Costa.
One call took place on Oct. 30, 2020, four days before the election that unseated President Trump, and the other on Jan. 8, 2021, two days after the Capitol siege carried out by his supporters in a quest to cancel the vote.
The first call was prompted by Milley’s review of intelligence suggesting the Chinese believed the United States was preparing to attack. That belief, the authors write, was based on tensions over military exercises in the South China Sea, and deepened by Trump’s belligerent rhetoric toward China.
“General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay,” Milley told him. “We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you.”
I just assumed that there was tons of this backchannel chatter going on to assure our allies and rivals that the guy in charge wasn't all that in charge.
The last 2 min + overtime were amazing. Got back to the hotel after booing the Asstrisks and watched the rest. Raiders tried to give it away, Ravens gave it right back.
One other nice piece of this is that Carl Nassib was playing his first game as the first openly gay NFL player, and he made big plays to help the Raiders win (like forcing the last fumble).
Fantastic game. The game had a looming inevitability of a Raiders loss (Baltimore's field goal with 40 seconds remaining, the overturned TD in OT, the bizarro interception off the helmet in OT, the delay of game on the field goal attempt), so I was pretty shocked when they won.
FCS Alcorn State (Lorman, MS) had to cancel practice yesterday because all their part-time trainers got Covid. They can't practice or play until they get new trainers.

that was also my first thought when I saw the name of this DBD
chapstick on dry winter days
I never really used it much but then I lived in Beijing for six months and finished an entire container of Carmex. I've NEVER done that before.
I really only use lip balm at the beach when I've been out for several hours and want the sunscreen (mine has SPF 40).
Not me, but my son is addicted, OTOH he does snowboard quite a bit.
Only as necessary. If I use it too often, then my lips start hurting when I don't wear it.
My father literally got addicted to lip balm. His body stopped producing moisture for his lips, which mean the skin would crack then peel off. He looked like a burn victim with smooth flat pink lips with undefined edges before he could wean himself off the balm. wait, is that a thing? Does it happen with specific types of lip balm, or all of them?
This is controversial. Some say it doesn't exist. All I know is what I see. When he used it, he looked like Jim Carrey's Fire Marshall Bill. When he didn't he healed up. Some say it is fake news, like Scootie's MSG narrative.
I believe you SGBear. I also believe Scootie’s story about MSG. I’m like Ted Lasso. I believe in Believe!
But, I do not believe that our Bears are headed to a Bowl Game this year. I had hoped so, but the “hope” was starting to kill me.
so, I have a high school friend who has a skin allergy to one of the sunscreen chemicals in lip balm, so his lips always get red and irritated from most kinds. Before he knew about the allergy, he would just apply more because, well, his lips were irritated!
Maybe it's something like that?
Maybe. We'll never know.

That wasn't me. Plus, I can't dislike a hometown company like Burt's.
chapstick all the time. Lips get sunburnt a lot, and winter really wreaks havoc on them
mostly while skiing.
otherwise i just ask my kids if they have any fun flavors like Laffy Taffy.

Oooooh, I see what you did there. Or maybe I'm reading something into it.
it's one of my go-tos for when the university inevitably does something to get people riled up and / or amused

DBD TEST KITCHEN
Eating cake for breakfast, have to ask my daughter what this delicious cake is called.
Now you’re talking...I fully endorse this practice.
It was a chocolate chip cake, with fudge layers, and coffee buttercream frosting, just on the top, which I think makes it a naked cake.
There are two types of naked cake. One has a crumb coat and might look like this: https://www.biggerbolderbaking.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/How-to-do-a-Crumb-Coat1.jpg I really dislike the aesthetics of this kind of naked cake.
Something like this, with frosting/filling between layers and on the very top, looks good to me: https://imagesvc.meredithcorp.io/v3/mm/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.onecms.io%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F9%2F2015%2F02%2F200703-r-xl-double-chocolate-layer-cake_0-2000.jpg&q=85
Neither, she uses clear plastic to wrap it, when it's set, removes the plastic.

Right, they didn't even really mention this when it happened . . . which is progress. He's just another player.
They gave him two minutes of discussion in the second half, but that was it (and that was fine!)
Yeah, that was crazy game, tons of fun, only started watching late in the 3rd quarter.

I even saw some people with LA Raiders gear

Lots! I know friends who are Raiders fans who know somebody in Raider-land, and they couldn't get tickets.

Delightfully wacky, oddball comedy. Elaine May's deliciously inept, awkward, filthy rich botanist character is possibly one of her best roles ever. Walter Matthau is wonderful as a spoiled, superannuated rich kid.
