I was so pissed about the TE constantly beating us. It gave me hives remembering the Cal game in Eugene so many years ago when Chip Kelly used the TE to decimate Cal. Every...single...pass...was to the tight end. Like we don't learn. I was not even impressed by their TE because he was so darn open every time. Not even contested balls. He just sat somewhere and caught what was thrown.

I've heard that in the NFL statistically passes to the TEs between the numbers are the most efficient play to gain yards. I wouldn't expect many college defenses to be able to defend against Nevada's competent TE and QB combo. I assume Turner will have an all-conference type of season.

NFL offense utilizes TEs. If only.... Cal had an OC with NFL coaching experience...

It seems like Iosefa was late to react here but really it’s a nice play design to put the LBs in conflict. Im assuming if Tattersall stuck with the TE the RB would be open with a lot of space to gain yards.

Agreed it was a nice play design. But Cal had to have seen this on film and come up w/ a better solution than the one they had. I'd like to see more of Miles Williams at safety. His INT was on par with what the All-American at Notre Dame did against FSU on Sunday night (read the QB's eyes and ran from the far hash to the opposite sideline for an INT).

I want Drayden to play CB on outside instead of nickel.

Well, my goal isn't to get comments, it's to write something fair and accurate and interesting to read. I think I presented who is 'at fault' in the body of the article, to the extent possible. Ultimately I don't know the play call, so only in rare instances will I be sure enough to explicitly say that somebody is to blame.
