I work in the dairy industry as a consultant. Attending a conference next week in Ohio but decided to stop by Kentucky since I've never been here before. Just arrived tonight and yes drinking Bourbon right now.
Didn't have a good game and it appears he got injured but Cal should have offered Patu. Great kid, comes from a football family, and his bro is going to be a star for Cal. He looks to have a lot of upside. Oh well.
Didn't realize he grew up in Redlands. Guess he hadn't quite made his name yet when I lived there. (Don't be tempted by Cuca's for Mexican food based on the article. Huicho's is where it's at.)
I never heard but Aranda isn't much of a talker. Sonny's said nice things about their time at Texas Tech but that's about it. Probably more to do with the job itself not being desirable (hence Buh).
The UCLA / Villanova game last night was really great. Both teams executed like they were in late-season form. I hate, hate, hate that I enjoy the way this UCLA plays. The parts all fit together well and they have a system that allows Vasquez and Juzang to flourish.
He was a top QB NFL draft prospect before the season...he definitely seems to have some talent, but will have to seriously rebuild his reputation next season. Watch him land at USC after Slovis declares.
Having a dogschitt season, but he was in the conversation when he had NFL talent at the WR position with Amon-Ra and Pittman...NFL size, too - but definitely not the production after that 2019 flash.
Haha that's fair. I'm too ugly for love, so no family at home for me to protect and as a Marvel zombie and Asian-American, it was easily worth the risk for me personally to go to the theater for that movie.
I didn’t see Black Widow in theater or 10 Rings and probably won’t see Eternals. I also didn’t see Dune. I love all things Marvel and Dune so I bought a 82 inch Samsung UHD TV and a Sonos surround sound system to watch movies at home. The bar is always open and the popcorn is free!
I'm going to spend this week doing my annual 'Cal Football Marketing Is Terrible' rant. In fact, I think I can expand that to the marketing of Cal basketball too. Records be damned, they're just not good at it.
Sam Howell had a pretty good season in ‘20 as well, tho an offense with Javonte Williams, Michael Carter & Dyami Brown should hum...he’s fallen off a little this year & the completion % is down. But he could work his way into 1st round discussion...
SDSU beat Nevada just as I thought they would.
Oregon State wallops Stanfurd 35-14. This portends a victory for our sturdy Golden Bears next Saturday!
OSU is now bowl eligible
Good for them, 1st time in like 10 years or so, right?
2013
Grant Garbers (CG's dad) claims Chase and starters will be back for Big Game.
It’s always a good day when Texas loses, it’s even better when they lose to Kansas.
Horns down
Just arrived in Lexington KY. All the bars playing Kentucky game. Surprised to find out they are second in division behind Georgia.
Are you there to buy some Bourbon? Or are you going to a stud farm to conduct business?

SEC east has been down lately and Kentucky has steadily improved. They were ranked but blew the Tennessee game.
Furd down 3 TDs and 18 minutes away from officially being bowl ineligible

We needed to hire Aranda. Keeps his eyes on the prize at all times. Sigh.

Sonny wanted to and tried to hire him as our first DC. Imagine Dykes with Aranda!
That would have been nice. And btw is Akina here yet?
Alas, only when the Big Game is played at Memorial.
With Gould...
Did it ever come out why he couldn’t hire him?
I believe it was money. He wanted a bit more and Dykes couldn’t get Cal to approve the amount needed.
Aranda definitely better than Buh or I can't even remember his name now
That is an understatement. Aranda is better than both of them combined.
Haha yeah. And he's head coach material.
Kaufman!
I never heard but Aranda isn't much of a talker. Sonny's said nice things about their time at Texas Tech but that's about it. Probably more to do with the job itself not being desirable (hence Buh).
I remember that and imagined it and got sad about it.
Tennessee reminds me of Dykes at Cal. Exciting offense. Gonna come up short against good teams.
A little early to claim that. It’s only Heupels 1st season and this is an all time great Georgia defense.
oh boy zona, TD on the block!!

Washington looking like they are doing their best to get out of that Jimmy Lake buyout: https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/suspended-uw-football-coach-jimmy-lake-faces-allegations-he-shoved-player-in-2019/
Plus, the Lake-less Huskies are up 14–0 on Arizona State. Literally addition by subtraction right now.
Looking like it could be subtraction by subtraction right now.
I’m surprised they need any further incidents to fire him with cause after what happened last week.
Arizona jumped out to the lead against Utah. Currently 14-14 with 14:00 left in the 2nd quarter.
Even game through the first half.
This just further shows how impressive our defensive performance was and how depressing our offensive performance was last week.
I used to care about how our opponents do vs other teams. Recently strength of schedule means nothing to us that I stopped caring.
That only mattered to me when we were nationally relevant. Now I just want to see the rest of the Pac-12 in shambles.
I really stopped caring a long time ago as well.
Now 17-14 Arizona with 1:20 left in the 1st half.
Utah scores TD on last play, 21-17 Utah.
Here's a link to CBS Gametracker....useful way of following games without needing to turn on the tube...

Utah ahead 38-29 with 2:10 left...
Agreed.
Dan Mullen is going to get fired with this win today.
Now I’m even more sad that Dykes couldn’t hire Aranda.
Makai Polk continues to have a very good season. I wish he had stayed at Cal.
I missed the fact that Makai Polk was playing D-Rob today.
So Mike Leach isn’t working out well down at Mississippi State.
Not so fast my friends…
Leach is equally capable of blowing or overcoming a big lead.
Shivered some timbers in that 4th.
Baylor unis are ugly. Thought you might wanna know.
They are terrible. Poop green.
Rattler will likely transfer no? He's been beaten out by a freshman. Perhaps he goes to AZ or Cal? hahahaha
My money is on a Pac 12 south team but I would be very excited if he came to Cal.
He was a top QB NFL draft prospect before the season...he definitely seems to have some talent, but will have to seriously rebuild his reputation next season. Watch him land at USC after Slovis declares.
Slovis is bad and should probably come back for another season. I am not even sure if Slovis is the starter if his backup QB didn’t get injured.
Having a dogschitt season, but he was in the conversation when he had NFL talent at the WR position with Amon-Ra and Pittman...NFL size, too - but definitely not the production after that 2019 flash.
Yeah, he is on that Longshore CFB regression.
The Baylor Surge is hilarious, lots of peeps got trampled (they were OK, don't worry).
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Not a good look after what happened in Houston at Astroworld.
Dave Aranda, what could have been?!?!
I watched the 10 Rings last night and really enjoyed it.
As for today. I’m looking forward to that Oklahoma/Baylor game.
If you didn't watch it in theaters already, you're dead to me.
Lol I’m trying not to get Covid and actually be dead! I haven’t been to a theater since probably fall of 2019.
If I didn’t have two kids aged 1 and 3 I probably would have seen it in the theater since I’m vaccinated.
Haha that's fair. I'm too ugly for love, so no family at home for me to protect and as a Marvel zombie and Asian-American, it was easily worth the risk for me personally to go to the theater for that movie.

Gonna watch a few but sans any particular time to be home & tune in to Cal with all the attendant stress disguised as fun involved.
and equally fun disguised as stress.
I'm going to spend this week doing my annual 'Cal Football Marketing Is Terrible' rant. In fact, I think I can expand that to the marketing of Cal basketball too. Records be damned, they're just not good at it.
If I were AD, I'd clean out everyone.
Yep. Cal Marketing seems to be a non sequitur.
It's pretty uninspiring. Here's a photo of some player you won't recognize with some blue/gold and a schedule. Year after year.
Nope.
Pitt v UNC was a good game showcasing 2 QBs projected to be high picks in the draft. QB from Pitt was decent.
Sam Howell had a pretty good season in ‘20 as well, tho an offense with Javonte Williams, Michael Carter & Dyami Brown should hum...he’s fallen off a little this year & the completion % is down. But he could work his way into 1st round discussion...
