Today marks the start of the early signing period for prospective student-athletes. Rob and other members of the WFCrew will have a more in-depth breakdown of our signees on Friday—check our YouTube channel for that—but we’ll kick things off with a brief introduction today on all the newest Bears.
This post will be routinely updated with players as they come in, so keep checking back in.
Staying local, the linebackers corp will be bolstered by the addition of three-star Kaleb Elarm-Orrs (0.8853). Looking forward to seeing KJEO represent the East Bay.
He announced his commitment nearly one year ago, but it’s official that Nate Rutchena (three stars, 0.8444) has now joined the Bears.
The first name announced by Cal Athletics was three-star (0.8706) offensive lineman Bastian Swinney.
Continuing our Arizona pipeline and joining the Takers is Hunter Barth (three stars, 0.8593). Looks like having a defensive backs coach from the state of Arizona is paying off already.
The defensive line got a little bit better today with the signing of three-star lineman Akili Calhoun (0.8898), who perhaps has the most Cal-appropriate name since Glenn “Anagram” Seaborg.
Joining him on the D-line will be Myles Williams (three stars, 0.8540), making the trek to Strawberry Canyon from Southern California.
For those of you who like the reemergence of the old-timey tight end under Bill Musgrave, you’ll be excited to see Keleki Latu (0.8497) send in his old-timey fax to Berkeley.
And with the re-establishment of WFC North this year, we’re bringing in Oregonian Patrick Hisatake (three stars, 0.8519) to join the esteemed lineage of Wilcox linebackers.
Hoping to follow in the footsteps of recent #gOLdenbears—like Alex Mack, Mitchell Schwartz, and Patrick Mekari—will be three-star Dylan Jemtegaard (0.8290).
Perhaps the gem of the class in terms of rating (four stars, 0.9374) is wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant, who has the potential to become a big playmaker and gamechanger for the Bears.
More depth and attacking power off the edge, 3-star OLB Moses Oladejo is in!
We have the older Iosefa. Now we have the younger Iosefa. The DB will slide right into becoming a safety for the future.
A future QB1 is in the class. 4-star QB Kai Millner joins the fray.
The hometown kid stays as the hometown hero. 4-star TE Jermaine Terry is ready to go!
The Bears add to the new Takers, as Lu-Magia Hearns stays in the Bay after playing at De La Salle HS.
Welcome our newest threat on the D-Line for years to come. Destroyer of offensive lines, breaker of first Dow’s, 4-star Derek Wilkins.
Another OL joins the party. The Bay Area’s very own Ryan Lange!
Another skilled WR. Another 4-Star WR. Welcome Mavin Anderson!
Another future Taker joins the Bear Family. He’s going to be a worry for all OCs.
Classes aren't finalized yet, but 21st in the nation and our best class since the Tedford era.

This is my favorite Cal sports day in a long time! Want to hear more and loving it. Seeing young men make this choice is always a delight. And unlike in the past, we are really doing our best to recruit local and get guys who are strong fits for the uniqueness of Cal.
