And a good DC, DB coach, WR coach, and OC.

Just further proof that Wilcox doesn’t prioritize special teams.
There's a lot to complain about, but this isn't it. How many kickers are we gonna put on scholarship? What we need is a ST coach.
We still needed Luckhurst because our other kicker couldn't do kickoffs, so we're not losing a lot.

I'm trying to figure out Cal's scholarship situation here. I thought Luckhurst had the scholarship and Mateen didn't. However, this page says Mateen has one? Is there a better database with scholarship info?

i believe the first situation you mentioned was the correct one
MG will be playing closer to home, and probably got his scholarship. Too bad for us, but good luck to him
