Despite everything brought upon us by 2020, Cal fans, today, the 123rd Big Game is happening.
Cal fans, some of you may be on the fence about Cal’s prospects. But, I’m here to tell you that it’s time to dive right back in and start pumping some sunshine.
This game today is everything. Out of all the games on our schedule this year, this is the one we want to win the most. Winning the Big Game will make us feel more pride and joy within our university than we have all year. So our record or our situation doesn’t matter; what matters is that a win means, for the next 360-odd days, the Axe stays where it’s meant to be.
Keeping the Axe doesn’t just mean that we’re better than Stanford on the field. Keeping the Axe also symbolizes our current supremacy in the Bay Area. Does Stanford have either Keenan Allen or Jennifer Doudna? No. Therefore, keeping the Axe tells the whole damn world that what they lack, we possess.Â
Today, if you’re a true Cal fan, then I know that you’ll be supporting the Bears as loud and as proud as you possibly can. So, all you Cal fans, I need you!Â
TO GIVE ME A C!
GIVE ME AN A!
GIVE ME AN L!
WHAT’S THAT SPELL?
WHO ARE WE?
AND WHO’S GONNA WIN?
GOOOOOOOOOO BEARS!
I think that beating Stanford is the big one for the alumni of Cal. But for Cal fans like myself who did not attend the university, it's often not the biggest game on the schedule. I would much rather see a big win against Oregon next week. I HATE Oregon and all that Phil Knight money, the kind of money that enabled the program to install Ferrari leather seats in the team meeting room. Really hating their top rated recruiting classes, too. Those kids are not going there because they love the small town feel of Eugene.
