Geoff MacArthur is hands down the best acquisition we’ve landed so far in the Tosh era! He was a legend at the Clark Kerr dorms before the end of his freshman year! I couldn’t be happier about this coaching hire!
This guy is an absolute gentleman, scholar and Great Golden Bear. He will teach these young receivers a lot about life, as well as catching a football. Tremendous news!
There was a limit of 10 assistants who could provide on-the-field instruction. It was abolished in June 2024. A limit of 10 (plus the head coach) still applies to recruiting. There was no limit to “off field” coaches, who could be described as analysts, or quality control coaches, or however you wished to designate them.
Massive staff. 6 coaches and the strength coach returning, which is unusual but good I think. I had been wondering about the fate of Anae and Bob Gregory and I see they are returning. There are different philosophies/systems for the offensive line, and the techniques can be very different, so I’m glad they won’t be starting over from scratch.
I gotta think Tosh & Co gave them the "if you're getting a giant back, I would take it" talk. We might be going with a different defensive approach (Wilcox was very "funnel to the middle", LB-centered approach).
Just conjecture of course. I have no idea what I'm talking about lol
Tosh continues to build a superior staff. Geoff MacArthur, a fearless Bear who continues to kick cancer in the ass, hard! All Bears are with you, Geoff! No doubt will coach our receivers into the very best, improving technique and giving JKS the receivers he needs.

Welcome back Geoff! It will be great to see you again. Go Bears!

Awesome! He was my first ever favorite Cal player. (I started going to games in the 2002 season)
Previously, wasn’t there a limit on the number of coaches you could have? When did that change?

Geoff was a heck of a receiver. Good to have him on board. May he reap the rewards from our receivers and our science researchers.

Kinda weird to see most of the linebackers leave given at least some coaching continuity (So'Oto is at UCLA now).

*bag not back. It's early and I'm tired
None of us do, but that was refreshing.
We got one coach for every starter.
