I mean how much does DeCuire move the needle? If our bar is Wyking and Fox, then yeah, sure. But Monty wasnтАЩt pushing Gates either, which was an obvious and worthy swing as far back as 6 years ago. Monty has his own agenda, which has been pretty consistently tied to his own legacy.
Also, I know Jay John. OK guy, but a wee bit old school, no? Maybe Madsen wins over fans with his charm and energy. Maybe he wins over me. But I do think Pasternack and AAR have better upsides, would get the base engaged quicker, and would put us on a path to having a more modern basketball program more quickly. Madsen becomes a better talking point for the old Bay Area sports journos though -- the few of them that are left anyways.
