I went to high school with Clemson President James Clement. Randallstown High School in Baltimore County, Maryland. President Clement is completely wrong on all counts.
I love your commentary and analysis; thank you for breaking these down so well and with minimal bias.
My question/statement is that I don’t understand Clemson’s interpretation of the GOR that it is no longer enforceable if they leave the conference. The language is pretty clear that the GOR is irrevocable and for the entire term of the ESPN agreement, even if the member institution leaves the conference.
There were 7 teams that met to try to get out of the GOR. 7 separate legal teams. Only 2 tried to make it out (to date). I think that is bc 5 other legal teams basically said this was unlikely to be successful. We are seeing with FSU that it is extremely challenging and slow going.
So, Clemson is trying *anything* they can think of to try to get out. These arguments are the best they can put forward.
I think UNC may be the only other one that really really wants to get out (maybe taking UVa with them, though I could also see maybe Dook). I'm assuming they're saving their money to see what happens with Clemson and FSU first. I just read the University is conducting an audit of the Athletic Department so maybe they're also going to wait for that to finish...

Is there a reason we haven’t just given twist his own username to post? This guest series has seen him contribute a massive amount.
Enough to not assault, er, uh, punch him?
Just that I have seen the polls on DBD.
Thanks for your kind words.
I am too lazy to figure out how to post, esp. when Nick does it for me
Can't think of what a suitable user name would be, to be honest.
