The fact that a good SMU defense got Zero sacks against Cal makes me optimistic that the O line has turned the corner enough to give JKS the time he needs.
I think the teams are pretty evenly matched so it will come down to which team is more motivated to win. I know that winning the game is very important to Rivera, but we'll have to see if that translates to the players.
What the Rainbow Warriors did to the Aztecs is very concerning, yet I am encouraged by how SJSU handled the Hawaii defense. Speaking of San Jose State, I would be thrilled if Cal can nab Danny Scudero in the portal. I don’t even know if they’re in the running for him, though, as maybe Cal will instead go all in on a taller, yet still athletic receiver like Marsh (MSU) or Harris (University of Hawaii).
I now feel prepared to watch this game properly thanks to another fine preview by Christopher. Dang, special teams could make the difference. This will be interesting. Best Christmas Eve present in a long time, the Hawaii Bowl. Go Bears!
