Homefield Apparel launches Cal line, and it's everything we ever wanted
A partnership with Write for California!
Here’s something that we’ve been hoping and waiting to see for a long time: Homefield Apparel has launched their Cal collection!
If you’re unfamiliar with Homefield Apparel, they’re a premium apparel brand that makes a point to dig through the history of each school’s collection of logos and images to create cool throwback designs.
Nick’s wife is already a happy Homefield customer, wearing some of her favorite designs as part of a elective class she teaches to encourage her students to continue their education by going to college, and she can attest to just how comfortable Homefield Apparel make their products.
And great news for YOU, a Cal fan! Because you’re reading this, you get to take advantage of a PROMO CODE from Homefield Apparel: First time customers can use WRITEFORCAL for 15% off their order!
So now that you know what’s up, let’s take a look at a bunch of shirts that you will almost certainly see us wearing at Cal games in the future:
Don’t get me wrong, I love Oski, and I love a good cartoon bear, but the Ursus Arctos Californicus is a majestic beast and the whole damn world is indeed his territory.
The Joe Roth Block C helmets will always be beloved for emotional AND aesthetic reasons, and there’s no better shirt to wear to the annual Joe Roth Memorial game.
A shirt in honor of Cal’s most odd, obscure cheer, Homefield Apparel was no doubt wise to focus on the ‘Wow Wow’ portion of the cheer, but maybe if I demand it loudly enough they’ll follow it up with a ‘Whiskey Wee-Wee’ sequel later.
I think I actually prefer ‘Big C’ as a song to ‘Fight for California,’ both musically and maybe just because you get to yell out a hearty Grr-ah in the middle.
You knew there was no way Homefield wasn’t going to do something for The Play, and going with the detail of the 1982 helmet (that honored the 100th anniversary of Cal football) is a smart touch.
I’ll never not love that I will read the words on this shirt and not immediately hear Starkey’s precise volume, emphasis, and cadence in my head.
Ahh, 1959. On January 1st of that wonderful year, Cal played in the Rose Bowl. Less than three months later, on March 21, Cal men’s basketball defeated West Virginia to claim the National Title.
You know darn well that it gets cold after dark at Memorial Stadium when November rolls around, and what you need most is a warm hoodie with a Golden Bear, ever watching on our rugged eastern foothills with our symbol clear and bold.
And when you hear the tread of lowly Stanfurd red, you’ll know what to do.
I know this shirt is more of a throwback and not explicitly honoring the 2016 MB Bears that went undefeated at home, but I’m pretending it is. That Bear is the avatar for Jaylen Brown obliterating Olaf Schaftenaar and then acting like he just made the most mundane play in the history of basketball.
So one more time in case you missed it! Because you’re reading this, you get to take advantage of a PROMO CODE from Homefield Apparel: First time customers can use WRITEFORCAL for 15% off their order!
Love it! I’ll take the Joe Roth throwback!
Nice shirts but where is "The Bear will not quit; the Bear will not die . . . ."?
