I keep asking and get radio silence...Hoping that those who know (you know who you are!) are keeping it close in order not to jinx it...that is what I choose to believe!
Love it! When we bring players in that aren't 5 star and they become stars at Cal, it's fantastic when they stay and understand not only all that Cal and Bay offers, but some sense of loyalty or gratitude. Here's to hoping that Ott crushes 2025 behind a well trained and effective offensive line and he goes top 10 in the NFL draft. And when he is introduced as an NFL player, he will say: Go Bears!
Sounds good. With Ott and Thomas behind some better and better-coached linemen, we should be able to run the ball again. Would be nice to find someone to throw the ball, although we probably aren't doomed if we end up with Harris.
I hope we can land a CENTER. I was watching Iowa State vs Miami game and the center dominated Miami's DT all day! Certain situations, the center was telling the qb what to do. He was checking calls at the line. Telling guard to block this guy. The guards were talking to the tackles. His technic looked like he was a former wrestler.
Hey I’d love it! I have him in a Devy Dynasty league!
I just fear the position at the NFL level has been so de-valued. Great RBs are going in 5th - 7th.
If he stays healthy, I could absolutely see Ott being a much better player at the pro level, like Jaylen Brown in MBB…that size, vision, patience, and ball-catching ability….
Ott was never really healthy…and this Cal OL was pound for pound one of the worst positional units of any kind at the Power 4 level.
But Ott’s patient running style was also kind of an issue, given the OL’s struggles. Players could simply not sustain blocks long enough, let alone reach the 2nd level consistently - one reason why Jet found more success. He just hit the limited holes that were there quicker.
I think Anae is the real deal tho and if Ott can stay relatively healthy, he has a big year.
Joining my fellow WFC's in joy on a Sunday morning, and the meme is so effing great.....so rumor millers, what's the buzz on QB...there has to be something out the in the calgor-ether, nyet?
OK. went way out side my comfort zone and googled my question re QB...so that leads me to, when I see some guy committed but not enrolled, does that mean they could still be in play..in other words, so you're saying there's a chance?
This move was well appreciated but to be truthful. His NFL stock took a big drop with his injuries. I think Ott had no choice but to come back. With this new O-line, our running game has the potential to be one of the very best in the country. It has a chance to be the same backfield when Russell White/ Aaron Wallace was here and we had two 1000 yd rushers or the backfield when Marshawn lynch/ Justin Forsett was here.
Anthony Wallace. Yeah, my point exactly. Ott was sure (and before the season stated so without hesitation) that after this year he was bolting for the NFL. He had a crappy year, so now that’s not a good option. His stock dropped, and he’s left with no choice except to try again. That he trusts his OL to improve (and didn’t bolt to another program) is encouraging though.
If this man had wanted to check out another program, there are very few coaches that wouldn’t be rounding up a big bag of cash to have him. Him staying in college is logical. Him staying with us is loyalty.
Is there any talk of who Cal is looking into for QB ?

Very happy to have him back.
A true Golden Bear, 🫡. I salute you Mr. Ott.

I liked how Harris played in the bowl game
Harris may be good, but wouldn't it be nicer if the QB is better than Harris?
But what happens if Harris gets hurt? Need another QB!
Hope to see H1M break both the career rushing and yards from scrimmage records next season!
He will……so get the champagne ready!

In modern offenses, the center calls out the blocking schemes. not many fans know that.
I hate to rag on a player, sense I and many family members have been in the pit but our center was not very good. The guy would block air at times.
Good observation, we could use a player like that at center. I loved that Miami lost by 1.
Oh screw it I have a good feeling about next season!
Also, Ott seems to understand the Cal online community in a unique way. The memery of the past 2 years has convinced me of this.
Now let’s get this man more blockers and a QB that can help take his draft stock TO THE MOON!!!
Happy New Year! Cheers fir a healthy Jaydn!
A man of character! Cherish the Cal degree and have a wonderful final year of football. We will be in the stands cheering!
The two most important things to Ott are family and faith. He is a unique athlete, and believes in loyalty.
Great news, this is very surprising but in a good way!
Famika hopefully gonna make this dude a day 2 pick!
Hopefully a day 1 pick!

Ott got zero help from the O line this year but he didn’t get help from the O line last year either and looked much better.

Durability is the key. If he has another injury riddled season, nobody will touch him.
And that is a concern. I think he’s missed time with injury every season, with last year being the mess.
Top Dog needs to create an Ott Dog in celebration 🙌🏻

Hey Fernando, oops I mean Benedict, see this? Ott is a real Bear, loyal and committed, you were an imposter. "Me and my boys", my ass!
You showed him!

That's not true.
He had a choice to transfer, but he didn't.
Do we know how much the Collective came up with to sweeten the pot? And if other teams were sniffing around?
