A nice conversation without much hyperbole. Thanks. I still think the game will come down to lines, and I think it's safe to say Cal has better talent and coaching on both lines. This, plus we know Cal will have a well coached D as always under Wilcox, means it's really a question of how well JKS plays. If we play relatively mistake free, with no more than 1-2 turnovers, then I think we are very likely to win. But if we get to 3 turnovers at bad times, the Beavers could pull this out. So my prediction is 31-17 Bears.

That was practically on the nose, and would have been the final score if the Beavs hadn't gone for 2 and we hadn't kicked the FG at the end.

Yeah, as the game went on I was like hey!

Thank you Jesse and Andy for the lack of sunshine pumping in this conversation! The Beavers and Bears are in similar situations with so many unknowns coming into the 2025 season. My hope is Jaron faces an O State DL that is still bad, giving him (and the rest of the GBs) a chance to build some NCAA confidence tonight...

I put on the Oklahoma game looking to see Ott. Didnt realize he's only 3rd string. Really sucks if he lost his whole future on that injury vs UC Davis.

I wonder if we pushed him out…

Or just werent going to give him the NIL money he was previously worth

I think this game is big for both teams. A L will be tough for either. After last years game, I like to think this one will be a walk in the park. But the teams have all different personnel. Go Bears!

I haven’t done tons of research, but what I’m not seeing is that Oregon State has done a lot to fix their offensive line issues. Cal has, and if we see that starting to pay off today it can make a huge difference in the game.

Oregon State brought in some transfers (not as many as Cal, but nobody did) after being hit hard by graduation, but they have not appeared to have the impact hoped for. Add a couple injuries, and it has become the position group of question regarding whether the OSU offense can get on track or not. Edge is thought to lie with the Bear's defense; we should have a feel for that by the end of the 1st qtr.

Thx for the info. Hopefully that’s how it will turn out

This game is very likely about how far along each team is with the gelling process.

Thanks Jesse for the invite to have a conversation about what will be a big game for both teams.

I’m sure you’re right. With so many changes, who is going to be able to be in sync?
