As the College Football Playoff Selection Show came and went, there were still a lot of bowl games to lay out. The California Golden Bears, standing in at 6-6, were going to get a bowl assignment in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, or El Paso in the Sun Bowl.
This morning, Brett McMurphy of Action Network reported that Cal will take on UNLV in the Art of Sport LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk. The Bears will face off against the Rebels on Wednesday, December 18th at 6:00 P.M. from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. I can also confirm this report and the Bears will head down to SoCal to finish its season.
UNLV may be in the market for a new head coach when these teams take the field, as Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports and Pete Thamel of ESPN are reporting that HC Barry Odom is set to take the job at Purdue.
Cal fans, what are your thoughts on heading down to Los Angeles to close the year?
Whereas UCLA isn't going bowling? How about that. Thanks for the Calimony.
I’ve never been to SoFi Stadium but that’s about to change.
