Well, good luck Bears. I won't be going as I continue my self-imposed boycott of allowing myself to care so deeply that I sacrifice great time and money for it. Until there is reason to expect something other than deep mediocrity. In fact, with the current state of $ in college ball, with college teams being purely pay to play and farm teams for the NFL, I'm really just pivoting to focus on the NFL teams I cheer for. At least the freaking NFL has a salary cap and equity. Go 9ers, Go Lions!
UNLV's head coach is reportedly leaving and their OC is reportedly a candidate for Cal's OC. May be only the first of a number of changes to be announced prior to the LA Bowl. College football is in interesting times. Despite their impressive season stats the Rebels offense wasn't very impressive against Boise State.
That would get me excited. I’m guessing Marion will be a candidate for the UNLV HC job and will have multiple suitors for an upgraded coordinator gig if that fails.
Interesting how UNLV will rally going from a chance to play in the playoffs to playing in a non descript bowl against a 6-6 team, all while their coach leaves them for a lower tier Power 4 program.
If it was Thursday I might have been able to make it, but not Wednesday. Though minor bowls are kind of a letdown compared to the regular season because of the roster and coaching uncertainty.
May as well come as the journey from the Bay is not too bad. Sucks that it's a Wednesday... but one could make a day trip out of it. I am surprised the early line has Cal by 1.5. I know UNLV will be missing their coach but that was a good team this year.
The Rose Bowl is no longer associated with any conference. Since the demise of the PAC12. It's now only a first round playoff venue for the National College Playoff. It will usually go to a western team who qualified for the 12 team playoff. ESPN and FOX sports are the reason this all happened. Money, money, money.
What is our offensive identity under Wilcox? Pro set, spread, power, etc. Do we recruit lineman that zone or man (pass/run) block? Still need a center, OL run and pass coordinator/coach. Lets hire Troy away from Stanford and call it a day. Given Stanford current model he's got maybe two more years.
Whereas UCLA isn't going bowling? How about that. Thanks for the Calimony.
Is SC going to a bowl? What's their record? It would be so cool if they weren't.
I’ve never been to SoFi Stadium but that’s about to change.
Saw Taylor Swift there. It’s gorgeous.
Who??
Same here

Cal gets to play a Southern California game. I should be there.

So happy I took the chance and went ahead and bought tickets about week and a half ago. I got burned last year, but it paid off this year!

Go Bears!
Gotta think Cal has the upper hand with UNLV coaching departure and likely portal exits.
You would think but I doubt it.
Yeah, I'd say that a wounded and undermanned UNLV team has Cal right where they should want them.
Crazy that the 14th ranked team (out of 17) in the ACC gets a bowl bid. Good that socal Bear fans get a game - the Consolation Bowl! Go Bears Forever!
side effect of having only 8 conference games
Thank you Pac-12...
About to get seats on the 50 yd line boys. I hope other LA area alumni will show up strong!
TD, I’m curious, will the fans will be able to make the difference for the Bears? Or is there not much fan expectation for the bowl game?
Stanford administration is stuck in the past!

Been to SoFi and prefer to spend my money for the Rose Bowl until they get coaching figured out at CAL.

Taylor just lost his 2 QB's. Daniels and Lamson went into the portal. What's going on down there? Would he be looking for a move also?
