Men's Basketball Release Full 2024 Schedule
Wednesdays and Saturdays Will Be Busy for the Bears
The ACC released the complete conference schedule on Tuesday, providing the first look at how the 20 conference games will break down.
Notre Dame is a conference member for all sports except football and hockey, expanding the conference to 18 teams. Cal will play SMU, NC State and Stanford twice, and play all other teams once. Top home games include Virginia, 2024 Final Four team NC State, and projected contenders Miami and Wake Forest. Cal will travel to North Carolina to play both Duke and UNC.
The Golden Bears have an early conference game on December 7th, hosting the Stanford Cardinal. ACC play resumes in early January with a road trip to Pitt and Clemson. All games will be on Wednesday or Saturdays, a change from the Pac-12 pattern of Thursday and weekend games.
Cal opens the season hosting CSU-Bakersfield on November 4th. The eleven game non-conference schedule is highlighted by a visit to Missouri as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. The Tigers are led by Former Bear Dennis Gates and features a Top 5 recruiting class as they look to rebound from a disappointing 2023-24 season.
Mark Madsen’s crew is totally revamped from last year’s roster. Cal fans can get an early look at the squad this evening when they host an Open Gym Session at Haas Pavilion from 630-830pm.
We’ll have more coverage of the team as we get closer to November.
Scrimmage starters:
Yellow squad:
Stoja, Christian Tucker, Lee Dort, DJ Campbell, Spencer Mahoney.
Blue squad:
Rytis Petraitis, Sissoko, Jeremiah Wilkinson (FR), Blacksher, Ola Joseph.
Omot looks to be out.
20-18 blue, 10 minutes in.
At least it looks like it’ll be easier to watch the games on TV (ACC).
Hopefully we’ll have a reason to keep watching though I really believe in Madsen.
