We had of some very strong interest in Oregon's safeties position. Sources tell FootballScoop Marcel Yates is making the move North.... https://t.co/91C82RigJOAgain, the Cal-Oregon pipeline proves to move both ways with Coach Yates moving north opening up another spot on the assistant staff.
Coach Yates came to Cal from his brief stint at UoA under HC Sumlin. Coach Yates previously coached Boise State and Texas A&M defenses. At Boise State, he was initially a DB/Secondary Coach and then came back to head their defense before moving to Texas and Arizona.

I think there's no way Heyward doesn't get involved in DBs. Dude's a proven master; why not utilize those talents AND use his position as a recruiting tool? Heck, I don't care which title he keeps (OLBs, etc.) as long as he provides the greatest benefit to our Bears!
