Again, the Cal-Oregon pipeline proves to move both ways with Coach Yates moving north opening up another spot on the assistant staff.

Coach Yates came to Cal from his brief stint at UoA under HC Sumlin. Coach Yates previously coached Boise State and Texas A&M defenses. At Boise State, he was initially a DB/Secondary Coach and then came back to head their defense before moving to Texas and Arizona.
