“PCR [polymerase chain reaction] tests can be incredibly accurate, but running the tests and analyzing the results can take time. One of the main advantages of an antigen test is the speed of the test, which can provide results in minutes,” according to an FDA news release. “However, antigen tests may not detect all active infections, as they do not work the same way as a PCR test. Antigen tests are very specific for the virus, but are not as sensitive as molecular PCR tests. This means that positive results from antigen tests are highly accurate, but there is a higher chance of false negatives, so negative results do not rule out infection. With this in mind, negative results from an antigen test may need to be confirmed with a PCR test prior to making treatment decisions or to prevent the possible spread of the virus due to a false negative.”

If this gets the conference playing by early January I'm all for it. Curious as to the efficacy though.

I would have hope, but California is being led by people like Pelosi...who considers her 80 year old hair above the general public. Bahaha

Dude......you think THAT'S the worst pandemic story? Pales in comparison to SO MANY OTHER THINGS that have endangered or ended people's lives, but it makes a good bumper sticker. Let's keep this to Cal comments.

I think its hilarious, and as a prominent political figure from a couple miles from CAL's campus and who's been in politics in my back yard my entire life...yah her BS matters more to me than someone from Louisiana (or wherever). Also I'm sure what she says influences the state of Californias decisions that will impact if CAL can play or not, right? This site is the forum of heavily tangential CAL topics btw, I'm just embracing it now instead of fighting :)

Cal topics, not all things IN the state of California. Maybe I missed it; is she a Cal alum, or are U cherry-picking an event out of the plethora of crap going on (whether pandemic....so much material, or some OTHER pile of bile [treatment of military as a proximal example]) just to hear Ur own voice? There are some chairs on the Titanic deck that need organizing if you want to put energy into something unrelated to the topic of the blog.
