What is our path to realistic improvement next year?

Trying to, but I'm just not seeing it from the expected roster...this team has 1 guy that can create his own shot, and he's graduating.

Cal 1-14 since Wazzu switched to a zone. Sigh.

Either Mark Fox or his kids have no clue what to do with a zone...gotta get that ironed out for next year....Walton just made the point that Joel Brown hurts them v. a zone because he can't shoot.

I don't think you can change Fox's mind about next season but if you give him decent arguments why Fox should only be given an extension on his contract for one year, Knowlton will listen to you. He's reasonable and listens but he does have his own ideas on the subject. A good argument could shape his thoughts for what to do after next season

If you want I can post his email address. Taco posted it a few months ago and I have since had several nice conversation with Knowlton, starting during football season. He will likely get back to you within a week. He's a nice guy but has a job to do under his own terms.

Yikes this Cal team can not shoot the basketball. Ugh. 23% from field, 18% from 3.

Alajiki with the pure jumper from just past the FT line...kid has potential.

Hope he works on his ball handling and taking a guy off the dribble this offseason, as he has range...they need guys that can create their own shots.

Hope Kuany works on a little runner in the lane and maybe even a little back to the basket...6'9", athletic and long...he can be solid around the tin.

Lars playing best

Grant rebounding well, but shooting poorly

No one else doing much offensively

I am willing to send all of these comments to Knowlton if a few of you dissenters want. But it's better if you write him yourself. Made a mistake -- he normally gets back to you in a couple of days, sometimes the next day.

Next time I write him I am going to tell him of why, if Wilcox ever leaves, he should hire Troy Taylor as our head football coach. Might even tell him I wanted Wilcox to take the Oregon job so we could hire Taylor. A great offensive mind and a proven quarterback guru (easier to hire a decent defensive coordinator, as offense is a more complex subject and thus head coach can have more of an impact than a defensive head coach can normally achieve) though I am impressed with our 2023 potential recruiting. And Taylor, with his long Cal history and love of Cal, will never leave Cal for another, more lucrative, job. Cal is his dream head coaching job. Read he is is having a banner recruiting season at Sac. St. Hope he stays there if there if he does not get a good FBS job to be ready to take the reins as Cal's head coach.

Will be sending Knowlton this email right now.

I watched one Oregon mid season game and said they looked undisciplined, and that maybe cal had a shot

Later Oregon went on a big run including some blow outs so I adjusted my thinking

But the Oregon we beat was the undisciplined version

But WSU is a defensive first team and their rim protector is the best in the business

However I’ve never seen him score like that before

Offensively and defensively he single handily beat us

What a disappointing end to the season. The inability to score more than 60 or 65 points is honestly pathetic. When we play a great game and beat Oregon and Furd, you have to hope they have figured something out and will rise to a new level. Then we find they just drop back down to a basement. I still believe it is more about the players we have than the X's and O's, but that's still on Fox. Only if Kelly comes back does the team seem to have much hope next year. And will Knowlton accept another bottom of the Pac season if Fox doesn't recruit a top 5 class? On to football season and spring practice.

Please. Show mercy. Let this be the last time we ever see Fox on the Cal sideline. This was so so very bad. Sure I feel bad for the kids. Twenty plus years in business and I know a cluster fuck when I see one. This CF started the day Fox was hired. Hard to put into words how really awful this team is under Fox.

Rough Cal start...a Thiemann turnover, Wazzu grabs 2 offensive boards on missed triples before hitting their 3rd try from 3, Celestine offensive foul, a Coug 3 point play, and then a Cal turnover.

Bears haven't gotten a shot off. Yikes.
