There’s finally some clarity in part of the schedule for the California Golden Bears. New networks, new facilities to visit, and the calm before the bulk of the ACC storm will be on tap when the Bears take on UC Davis, Auburn, and San Diego State to start the season.
Cal will open at home against the Aggies under new Head Coach and last years tight ends coach Tim Plough, at 2:30p.m. PT on ACC Network Extra. ACC Network Extra programming is only available through the ESPN app if you subscribe to a provider who carries the network. You’ll then log into the ESPN app on your device and connect with a provider that carries ACC Network. What a way to enter the show.
The Bears will then get on the national stage for the following two games, going down south to take on the Auburn Tigers at 12:30p.m. PT on ESPN2. With that 2:30p.m. CT local kickoff, that will surely be a hot one for any fans that make the trip. In the final home game prior to the meat of conference play, San Diego State makes the trip up north to California Memorial Stadium, starting some California after dark football with a 7:30p.m. PT kick in Strawberry Canyon.
Later in the season, is a Friday night game in Winston-Salem against Wake Forest, where the Bears will rumble in on Nov 8 for a 5:00p.m. PT kick off on the ACC Network. Hopefully the Demon Deacon isn’t presenting over any Oski wedding mischief.
Cal fans, what are your thoughts on these kickoff announcements?
I am in Texas so I am just glad that Cal is off the Pac 12 Network! That was horrible, hardly saw any games. I have YouTube TV which includes ESPN, ACCN - stoked! Not sure about ACC Network Extra Plus hmm... I might try to make it to the SMU game. GO BEARS!
Getting to tell Fubo to suck it for their overpriced service was a nice perk associated with the death the PACN. Bastards raised their prices and cut channels such as Discovery. Good for obscure sports and soccer, but pretty crappy for live TV. For those who have not quit yet, if you hit the cancel button, you will get offered discounts (twice). So if you intend on keeping it, play like your quitting to get a fat reduction on your next bill.
Only wish I had shorted Fubo. They are going to lose a big handful of customers with the demise of the PACN and their price structure.
