How inspiring (and as a writer here, a little bit terrifying) that Larry's work was so highly regarded by the coaches. I hope he knew the impact that he had and the respect that he earned.

Coach G invited him to attend a pre-game talk, and he waffled back and forth on if he should take up the invitation (and then Coach G went to the Cavs). He was known to a lot of the women's player's parents and already he worried it compromised how much he would be able to critique or call out bad performances by them.

Great job, everyone. It's touching that Lindsay Gottlieb followed Larry's work so closely.

It’s fantastic that Coach G understood Larry’s value, and took the time to write beautiful words about him. Larry’s love of the WBB program, and the WBB players, was real, and it was deep. Larry’s fandom was never paternalistic, and he never thought of female basketball players as somehow lesser. He saw those women for what they were: incredible, top level athletes competing at the top of their sport. And while he loved them, he never lowered the bar of his expectations for them. When they overachieved, he was exuberant. When they underachieved, he was heartbroken. I hope the WBB program can honor him in some way.
