Meh, never made the mistake to trust an Oregon man in the first place.

I feel nothing.

You a nihilist, P, like Uli Kunkel (aka Karl Hungus) and the boys from Autobahn? ;-)

I don't feel any way about it. Oregon is clearly a bigger name program with more money/resources. He's an Oregon alum. Can't blame anyone for looking at better opportunities.

Of course, I also don't think he's likely to get the job.

IMO he gets a pass because he's an Oregon grad. If it had been, say, Washington, it would have been different.

I'm fine with it. In the sport world this is a generally accepted and known practice. I think ADs would be more pissed off if these meetings were clandestine and one day they woke up to the fact that their HC had skipped town overnight. In the professional world we deal in, it does in fact happen overnight and in secrecy, which ~ at times ~ can disrupt a business for x amount of time.

You mean like Lincoln Riley and ISC? ;-)

He might not want to make a habit of interviewing with other schools, tho....this is probably his one pass.

Agreed. Also, I definitely wouldn't fault any of my employees for interviewing for other jobs unless it was in year one or two. Blood in, blood out.

I agree with you GEAT.

That's a difficult one for me. I consider the fact that Wilcox interviewed there as being the exception to the general rule simply because he grew up in Eugene, and both he and his father played at Oregon. I'm sure that being the head coach as his alma mater is something of a dream job for him. It's also different to me from the Sunny Dykes situation because Sunny was expressing interest in any job that walked by (and he let the world know about it), which showed no loyalty at all to his current employer. If Wilcox has been doing the same, at least he has had the decency of keeping it much more quiet. I can respect that.

I'm also tempted to cut him some slack for interviewing since a) he is an alumnus and former player b) extensive family ties and friendships there c) He hasn't exactly had Sonny's wandering eye and d) he doesn't like chicken spaghetti.

Dykes was always looking at jobs around Texas, which is where his friends and family are, to be close to his ill father.

Wild story coming out of OregonLive.

Wilcox was offered Oregon job and declined.

Dykes was looking to get out of Berkeley. Wilcox interviewed for a perennial top 20 and maybe top 10 program. Hard to fault him for that.

Agreed. Dykes also went after for that Mizzou job.

To this day, Dykes remains one of the more puzzling FBS hires youтАЩre gonna see, IMHO.
