We are losing out in the transfer portal and high school recruiting. Check on out Rivals 247. Cal is ranked 14th in the ACC in combined recruiting portal/high school. Look at Qb rankings --Fernando is ranked the 4th highest Qb. Brown is #33. Clearly Brown has not played as much so we will see. Add to that we lost three top rated WRs. Will be we a better team next year?

With the schedule, new coaches, a healthy ott, and two potentially good QBs, we have the potential to be a lot better record wise.

I mean, do we really need 2 DB coaches when your HC was a standout at the position?

We got a Head Coach who can coach DBs and LBs, plus 2 DB coaches and 2 LB coaches.

That's more than enough.

Man we sure are losing a lot of coaches. But I understand because our safeties are getting drafted in the national football league and they need some kind of recruiting magnet. Plus they have lots and lots of money and can afford to pay whatever they have to build a championship team.

It's not really a portal for coaches. It's just a college having coaching job openings and then coaches apply, just like any profession. A lot of it is done at coaching conventions.

That coach's transfer portal is going wild.

Never sure how to take these… on another topic, anyone see the inane and frankly wrong Scott Ostler piece in the Chronicle about how Cal and Stanford are losing out in the Transfer portal, demise of the Pac 12, etc. Does he even follow college football??

I did. That was an awful take

That's why Wilcox had to show Tre Watson the door nicely.
