Can you name the correct Cal football opponent?

When you play a sport for more than 100 years, you build up an impressive list of weird and/or memorable games. While this week’s quiz is largely drawn from games that happened in the last 30 years, there should be enough semi-obscure games that you will either need extensive Cal knowledge or good guessing skills to nail the perfect 15-for-15.

As it turns out, the answer is largely yes. Unsurprisingly, the football and basketball HOFers were highly recognized, but Cal’s incredible collection of Olympian swimmers got high marks as well. Sadly, spare a kind thought for Joy Fawcett, who deserves more renown (among Cal fans and among USWNT fans) for being such a National Team mainstay. 7th all time in caps! Two world cups!

A perfect score was tough but not impossible, and there were quite a few folks who got the 20 or more required to get into the B-or-better range. I’m going to assume that those small handful of folks who got 4 or less got distracted in the middle of the quiz and time ran out.
