re @piotr predicting Cal somehow winning 28-7 but not covering an 18.5 point spread: I'm not a mathematician, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ...
I think we win by 10 or 14 points but not more than that. Oregon St is depleted but angry and if we overlook SDSU, we will be in a tough battle. Best to come out with our absolute 100 pct effort. Hoping to see a great game!
Cal's offense is well below average 16th in the ACC, in part due to all of the injuries, in part due to subpar coaching. Their OL is not good. They have a pretty good defense thus far 6th in ACC. Given they are at home I think they'll squeak out a 10-14 point victory here to go 3-0. However, unless they get the starters back and keep improving, like in prior Wilcox years once they start ACC play most likely they will go on a mid season losing streak and finish with between 5-7 wins.
Sorry I'm just not predisposed to sunshine pumping where not warranted. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think they won't have annual Wilcox swoon. Let's see if they can improve and get the OL starters back . Go Bears!
It seems that everybody thinks it'll be an easy win. As a former coach you never think that! The only thing easy is a football game is pre game warmup. If the players think it'll be easy then the coaches have failed in preparation.
He's been in the program for eight years. Hes got a experience qb, rb, ol depth, and solid defense. Win big and go home. I'm done with the reasons why.
Wilcox will want Cal to control the game, and if scoring opportunities are there, will take them if they can be had without doing anything exotic. Cal will want to kick some field goals to get that settled down after the multiple misses of last week. Will not run up the score. San Diego State might sneak in a touchdown when Cal starts subbing toward the end of the game.
I think Cal wins by a couple of scores. Oregon State last week had trouble scoring against the Aztecs for most of the game. Cal may struggle to pull away, though SDSU’s offense won’t muster much other than their super RB breaking off a couple good runs. My prediction: 20-10 Bears.

34-16 Bears
I was in the ball park with my prediction. Would’ve nailed Cal’s score if that last FG sailed through the uprights.

Damn, I want what Rob's having

Wow. Such a negative, cynical comment. I'm glad I don't sit next to you.
No sunshine pumping for you!
Wow. Many of us are daring to feel optimistic for this season.
Are you pre-disaster prepping us?

Hmmm... a Giants fan, too. Explains a lot. I'll believe when I see it.
Stay salty, Bear.

Yes, see Notre Dame!

Spot on. Wilcox has no interest in dropping 50. A two td win is a Wilcox blowout. I think we will see on this Saturday.
Go Bears!!
“Two TD win is a Wilcox blowout.” You can carve that in stone.
I was optimistic on the offensive end. Hopefully I’m pessimistic on the defensive end and Cal will pitch its first shutout in a while.
Agreed. He also has a lot of respect for the SDSU program from the Rocky Long days.
