Long time no see. Thanks to all the writers for filling my inbox with lovely WFC nuggets this entire week. I finally got around to reading all the previews and I am ready for another idiotic season of Cal football where I get my hopes up and think it's the greatest team I've seen in a decade, only to be let down by a sputtering offense and an untimely injury or two. Go Bears!
It’ll look scary bad in the first quarter. Line backers out of position, big holes for Nevada’s run game, Nevada will score quick. Our offense showing a bit of rust…oh jeez. Why god?!
I will have blacked out from over enthusiastically sampling a bottle of whiskey given to my as a gift by my patient hidden under my big trucker hat from first quarter nerves. As a form of time travel my deep state of inebriation has transported me to a joyous cheer and a final cannon boom.
My buddy will then carry me to the car with the strength only someone who has witnessed a satisfying display of football dominance and drive my sorry ass home to watch a highlight real lasting over 15 minutes showing garbers throwing touchdowns, running backs trucking db’s into the end zone, and multiple sacks and interceptions by our D.
Lots of talk about Musgrave and improvement on the offense, as there should be. I'll also be curious to see if Sirmon can make adjustments like DeRuyter. I really would not be surprised to see Nevada score early in some shocking way that looks like we are doomed. Can Sirmon make the quick adjustments like DeRuyter when this happens. That will be in interesting subplot. So excited! Go Bears!
Off topic but Furd laid a goose egg against K-state. After they fell behind they took all the time in the world to get plays off. Also, they don't have the personnel to play Furd style smash-it-up-the-middle ball like they used to. Also, there was poor tackling and the K-state back averaged more than 10 yards per carry.
I hate to saybbnit, but Rick Chen you are dead to me. Cal will start slow and I will be tempted to throw a tantrum and walk back to the Faculty Club. The D and Garbers will come back and prevail. Harners 3 TD passes and a pick six for Takers 2.0. Cal 34 Nevada 17.
