Write for California Season Predictions for Cal Football 2025
Presented by Dokkaebier
ACC Year 2.
With the Bears selected to finish 15th in the conference in the media poll, do our writers feel the same way?

Season Prediction: 6-6
This is such a difficult projection to make since we haven't seen how the team is coming together from fall camp. To me there will be a mix of position groups that get better but in a similar context, ones that also regress. For me, its hard to ignore 8 years worth of a sample size so I can't argue for a 8+ win regular season when we just haven't seen it.

Season Prediction: 6-6
JKS will become a Freshman All-American, the Cal pass rush will finally produce a 10+ sack guy, and we will lose more games than we win by 1 score or less.

Season Prediction: 10-2
Football gods, universe, multiverse, timeline and everything collides and goes full tilt to give the Cal fandom a season to remember after last season’s fandom explosion with GameDay in Berkeley.

Season Prediction: 8-4
Cal Football gets back to the top-25 ranking with a strong start to the season (6-1). The Friday night UNC at Cal national game turns into a College Game Day-lite.

Season Prediction: 5-7
I don't know if this says more about me or more about Cal football, but this is the first season I can remember since attending Cal that I'm not drunk off the Cal Flavor-Aid in the preseason. I could try to be hyped about a freshman JKS or Ron Rivera's influence or something else, but it feels to me like the magic of college football is gone. I thought Ott was going to be my next NFL jersey; guys who epitomize Cal, but we saw how that turned out. I just can't shake the feeling that if JKS balls out that he'll end up elsewhere for more money or whatever, and Cal will yet again be a mish-mash of portal transfers just good enough to contend for bowl eligibility.

Season Prediction: 6-6
Cal has all the ingredients for complete uncertainty in 2025: new coaches on offense and defense, a new QB, a ton of new players throughout the two deep. The only surprising outcomes to me would be winning 3 or fewer games or 10+ games. Until evidence points otherwise, I assume this will be another typical 6-win season for Wilcox.

Season Prediction: 8-4
Our 4 losses are going to be Duke, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and SMU. Frankly I’m iffy on us pulling out a victory against UNC, so 7-5 might be it for us in the regular season. Yes, I realize this means we go 4-0 to start the year, and then lose 1-3 games straight, not unlike last season. But fact of the matter is, we know very little about this team’s talent level.
There are lots of things to fear: a true freshman QB, a weakened secondary, a new RB room, and no Jack Endries. But there’s lots of things to hold hope in: a beefed up Oline, a reinforced Dline, good performing WR’s, and a solid LB squad. The ability to end the season close to the top of the ACC is there, but so is the ability to remain close to the bottom. Only thing I know for sure is the axe remains in Berkeley another year.
I see De Jesus and Uluave going crazy this year for us. I am praying to Oski that Jaron truly lives up to his name and becomes a combination of Jared + Aaron.

Season Prediction: 8-4
Jaron struggles like any True Freshman QB will but shows signs of something big, we see Wilcox 3.0 with Harsin/Rolo at the offensive controls, Ron taking on the Administrative Duties, and new life breathed into Cal Football and the East Bay.

Season Prediction: 7-5
A relatively drama free mostly successful season. No crazy comebacks, no turtling for the last 20 minutes of the game and being nervous the whole time. There is enough offense and building excitement to make us believe Rivera and Wilcox have figured something out.
Rex Volcano
Season Prediction: 9-3 + Bowl Win
The forces ruling the multiverse give us a tantalizing glimpse of other dimensions where Cal was not hampered by various curses and ambivalent administrators over the last decade. Everyone has a great time and learns valuable lessons. Oski is possessed and used as a vessel by an ancient force to share a terrifying, exciting prophecy

Season Prediction: 7-5
My win loss is what I think the basement should be, but it's hard to tell what a lot of these teams are right now. I'm higher on this team than I thought I would be, and think a unified team that loves each other could win more games than a squad led by a couple outliers that view themselves that way. For specific player predictions I want to see Ryan McCulloch hit the high end of his sack goal, something like 12-13 of em? I'd love to see Paco be the next star of the DB room and get great draft hype.

We have DE Jesus on our side, so 9 wins
I think you're all right, which is to say nobody knows. Mostly I agree with Christopher when he says: "this is the first season I can remember since attending Cal that I'm not drunk off the Cal Flavor-Aid in the preseason."
