I’m torn. We can’t compete with the USC/Oregon/Utah’s now. Adding Ohio state/Michigan/Penn State is only going to make us more irrelevant as a program. Great for the money and exposure, but I feel like we are about to cement ourselves as the Vanderbilt of the Big 10 for money. At least in a modified PAC 12 we would have had a shot to build our brand.
FWIW, Cal has a winning record against B1G programs over the last 20-25 years. I don't think we'd be doing any better or worse than we did in the Pac, all else being equal.
Just remember that you don't play Ohio State or Michigan every week. There are plenty of Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern type opponents too.
