Welp that wasn't great.
If you get outscored 39-18 from three, it's hard to win.
If your bench gets outscored 35-0 to start the season, that is also not ideal.
At least Jaylon Tyson looks great! But Tyson getting hurt was the catalyst for Pacific to pull away. Prayers up.

My take on Pacific is Cal basketball won three games last year, and no matter how many instrumental changes we made this offseason, it was going to be impossible to rebuild this team from scratch and be ready to gangbust. Injuries do not help. Lots of hard-fought games ahead.
Awful shooting night from 3's and FT, it happens. Team will get back to shooting the ball better. Lots of work needs to be done on defense. Not upset about this loss but expect improvement each and every game during OOC schedule.
I suppose we have to bring our expectations back down to earth. Hope to see improvement as the season continues. Bad losses happen given all our changes and the unpredictable nature of college basketball but this isn't an easy one to sugarcoat.
