Cal lands Montana State transfer offensive lineman Rush Reimer
The California Golden Bears get a huge offensive line target in the portal.
Cal needs offensive linemen depth in the worst way to keep their upward trend into the ACC. On Monday night, they got a huge boost with the commitment of Rush Reimer from Montana State.
Reimer has one year of eligibility remaining.
Reimer gained these honors in FCS play.
2022 HERO Sports Sophomore All American
2022 3rd Team FCS All-American
2022 2nd Team All Big Sky
2023 First Team All Big Sky
Cal will be losing Barrett Miller (out of eligibility), Brayden Rhome (grad transfer), and Everett Johnson (grad transfer to Montana), so getting Reimer will help the Bears stem the losses.
This is the third impact transfer the Bears have landed since the portal opened from the Big Sky. Cal also secured the commitments of Idaho defensive back Marcus Harris and UC Davis linebacker Teddye Buchanan. The Big Sky is stronger than ever, and it’s proving to be a great place to land hidden talents going into 2024.
Welcome to Cal
Given the impact of our recent MSU transfers (Ifanse and Sessions) this should be a plus. Montana State had another excellent team this year coming within a blocked extra point of likely making it into the FCS semifinals.
Perfect name for a guy who could neutralize a pass rush. Always good to get an experienced tackle.
