Cal Men's Basketball lands Northern Arizona University transfer guard Jalen Cone
Mark Madsen has secured frontcourt and backcourt commitments
Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Madsen is working the transfer portal. After picking up Utah Valley/Texas Tech transfer Fardaws Aimaq, Northern Arizona transfer Jalen Cone has committed to the Bears. Cone will look to offset the departures of Joel Brown, Kuany Kuany, and Marsalis Roberson when he puts on the blue and gold.

Cone averaged 17.6 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game this season for the Lumberjacks on 42.4% shooting from the floor and 40% from three point range. Cone spent two seasons at Virginia Tech before moving to the Big Sky conference for NAU, where he earned All Big Sky third team for his efforts this season.
Welcome to Berkeley, Jalen!
And you may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"
And you may ask yourself, "Where is that large automobile?"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful house"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful wife"
Letting the days go by...
Is this still a Cal site or has someone pulled a joke on me? We can have nice things....
Go Bears!! Go Mad Dog.
I'm excite about Cal MBB....again.
One thing I think we should recognize is that the transfer portal is gonna flatten the talent curve with the blue bloods in college basketball. I don't think this year's NCAA was an aberration. I think most of college basketball is gonna have a mid major feel, and that's a good thing for Cal. We'll be able to rebuild quickly, and the Wyking/Fox era will recede in the memory. If Cal is a yearly 20-12 team, I think that's a win.
