Cal transfer portal commit: OL Lamar Robinson from Georgia State
Cal lands their third new offensive linemen of the weekend.
The California Golden Bears needed new linemen to fix their most disappointing unit of 2024. This weekend was a huge step in the right direction, with three huge commits. The latest one was Lamar Robinson.
Robinson was a left tackle at Norfolk State in 2022 before transferring to Georgia State in 2023 and playing left guard the last two seasons. He received offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State and Stanford after entering the portal as well. In his 74 snaps against Power competition in 2024 (Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt), Robinson allowed only three pressures (according to PFF+). He also made the academic honor roll and the Dean's list last spring at Georgia State.
Robinson joins Lajuan Owens via New Mexico (who followed new offensive line coach Famika Anae) and Tyson Ruffins via Nevada and Stanford. Anae is rebuilding this offensive line as quickly as he possibly can and the Bears are far from being done on this front.
