After leading the program for 32 years, HC Ninemire ends her Cal Hall of Fame career.

After decades at the helm of the Cal Women’s Softball team, Coach Daine Ninemire retires on a bed of laurels larger than the Berkeley Botanical garden. Coach Ninemire retires due to health concerns.
Since her first year in the dugout as head coach in 1988, Ninemire has compiled a 1,355-687-1 record – more wins than any other coach in school history.
AD Knowlton had this to say about the Cal Hall of Famer:
"I'd like to thank Diane for all that she has done in service to our student-athletes, our department and our University over the last 37 years, including the past 32 as our head softball coach," Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton said. "She has won more games than any coach in any sport in our history, led the softball team to the first NCAA women's team championship ever at Cal and was most deservedly inducted into our Cal Hall of Fame this past fall. We hope that she is able to devote the time she needs to improve her health for the long term. Diane leaves a wonderful legacy at Cal and we look forward to building upon it in the future."
Kind of a weird timing, just ahead of Cal Softball's cross country trip to play at James Madison University in Virginia this weekend. I hope Coach Ninemire's health is okay. It would be very interesting if Cal Athletics does intend to invest on a big name or if we will just let interim head coach Tammy Lohmann, who's at Cal for 15 years, to just stay put.
She is maybe not well? I went to the game in Fullerton against BYU and I did not see her. She could have been in the dugout though.
