Cal Basketball: Mark Fox fills final roster spot with Stony Brook grad transfer Makale Foreman
More perimeter shooting!
The Bears filled their final open roster spot with the commitment of Makale Foreman. The 6-foot-1 point guard played this past year at Stony Brook after spending 2 years at Chattanooga. He sat our the 2018-2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Foreman averaged 15.6 points on 36.5% shooting and 36% from beyond the arc this past season. He also set Stony Brook records for made 3s in a single-season with 104, single-game made 3s with 8, and single-game 3PT percentage with 80%. Foreman will definitely add some needed depth on perimeter shooting to help the Bears space the court better for this upcoming season.
Welcome to Berkeley, Makale!
Let's put Makale's 36.0% 3-point at Stony Brook last season into perspective. Cal was 33.5%, ranked 166th out of 350 D-1 teams last season. So he already improves Cal's shooting. If everyone shot as well as Makale, they'd be tied for 48th best 3-point shooter (top quartile).
I'm going to spend my nights pointlessly dreaming of a run and gun bombs away offense
