Tokyo Calympian on Wed. July 21 (in USA): Game 2 for USA Softball
Val Arioto and Team USA takes on Canada
We are still a day ahead of the Opening Ceremony, but there are more softball (and men’s soccer which has no Calympians). Be sure to catch Cal Great Valerie Arioto on her sport’s biggest stage!
On Tuesday night (US time), Val Arioto recorded Team USA’s first hit of the game/tournament and then scored their first run in a 2-0 victory over Italy. USA will face a tougher opponent tonight in Canada.
Val showed off her base running skill in aggressively scoring a run on the play below.
Also from Wednesday morning, USWNT with Alex Morgan fell 3-0 to nemesis Sweden. The Swedes eliminated the Americans in the Rio 2016 Games and won this match easily. Fortunately for the US, there are plenty of opportunities to bounce back in group play as 2/3 of the 4 teams in the group will make the knockout stage.
Calympian Schedule for Thursday, July 22nd in Japan (Wednesday night in US)
All action should be streamed by NBCSports if not shown live on TV.
