It was a productive second week of June for the California Golden Bears on the 2025 recruiting trail. They landed a first commitment from Arizona linebacker Beckham Barney after his official. Hawaii edge LeBron Williams was the next to make the call with a commitment to the Golden Bears.
It’s another add for the 2025 class comes from Hawaii where Cal has had recent success in bringing in DL recruits such as Big Stan beforehand. LeBron also holds offers from UCLA and WSU. He projects to be an DE in the Cal defensive scheme.
Williams ranks as the 100th best edge and 13th best prospect by 247Sports. The link to his Hudl highlights are here. Williams also visited UCLA recently, so winning this commitment is a nice in-state battle win. He had offers from Hawaii, Nevada and Washington State as well.
With the addition of Beckham Barney, he is the 10th recruit in the cycle and 2nd DL add. The Bears have stacked up on front seven talent, as Williams and Barney join linebacker Carter Jones, defensive lineman Ike Okafor and linebacker Ke'Breion Winston.

His father must have wanted him to be a basketball player, but welcome, Go Bears!
