Cal football lands edge rusher Cheikh Fall from the transfer portal
The California Golden Bears continue to find portal talent late into the spring cycle.
The California Golden Bears found another edge rusher in the transfer portal, as Chiekh Fall announced his commitment yesterday. The 6-4, 255 pounds Eastenr Kentucky edge from Brooklyn could be a sleeper in the 2024 portal period.
Fall took a visit to Cal this past weekend and committed soon after.. His stats at Eastern Kentucky included 23 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the 2023 season, and he totalled 37 tackles duriing his time there.
After seeing Myles Jernigan head off to Louisville and losing Deamontae Diggs back to the portal after his initial commitment, Fall is a welcome addition. He will join Missouri transfer Serigne Tounkara as new spring portal faces who can provide edge depth. This way the Bears should have enough talent to produce consistent pass rush on the outside.
Welcome to Cal Chiekh! Go Bears!
Eastern Kentucky edge rushers from Brooklyn don't grow on trees!
That is the good thing about the transfer portal. As soon as one leaves they can immediately be replaced with someone of equal or greater talent.
