Cal Football Coaching Staff Kicked Off 2027 Recruiting With Bay Area School Tour
The California Golden Bears visited local football programs like De La Salle, Archbishop Riordan, Bishop O’Dowd and McClymonds.
The California Golden Bears kicked off recruiting efforts last week with a full-on blitz of high school visits.
You can see in these photos the coaches you’d expect to be doing the heavy lifting in recruiting. 10 coaches are allowed to do offsite visits per NCAA rules. Joining Tosh Lupoi on the road were the following staffers:
Assistant head coach/Quarterbacks coach Nick Rolovich
Offensive line coach Famika Anae
Offensive tackles coach/run game coordinator Viane Talamaivao
Offensive coordinator Jordan Somerville
Co-defensive coordinator/Defensive backs coach Da’Von Brown
Running backs coach Keith Bhonapha
Tight ends coach Steve Haunga
Defensive coordinator Michael Hutchings
Defensive line/Pass rush specialist coach Darrion Daniels
Safeties coach Connor Boyd
De La Salle High in Concord
Serra High School in San Mateo
Bishop O’Dowd in Oakland
This figures to be a very active Cal recruiting staff in the coming weeks as they turn their full attention to the 2027 recruiting class. More stories to come.

When recruiting is done well, it's one of the most exciting parts of college football for me. This makes me so happy! Go bears!
I think this local recruiting effort is fantastic. Thank you for the update!
