Cal Football Legends NIL Looks to Raise $2 Million for the Bears

The California Golden Bears are getting College Gameday. What better time to start a fundraising drive for part of what got us here?

Two years ago, the Cal football team was rebuilt from a pretty rough spot to help make a bowl game last year. This year, the banged up Bears were still able to go into Auburn and Florida State and make waves with one huge win and one near win in a three week span.

This was all possible thanks to the efforts of Cal fans everywhere in donating to the Cal Legends NIL. This has helped provide the football program the resources necessary to close in on huge portal targets like Teddye Buchanan, Corey Dyches, Marcus Harris and so many more. Many Cal transfers have played a huge role in the Bears getting to 3-1, and being an attractive enough program to earn the College Gameday slot. Despite a smaller operating budget, Cal was still able to best Auburn and nearly best Florida State, who donated tens of millions to their respective NILs.

With the spotlight on Berkeley this week, a very generous Cal donor has offered to do a MILLION DOLLAR MATCH to all donations to this week’s campaign.

We encourage you to do the following.

• Use whatever pitch you need to get Cal fans to donate. “Want more memes from the Calgorithm? A great Cal team will ensure them, and a great Cal team would come from a stronger NIL.” (I’m spitballing, but you can find better pitches, like “Cal will be better at football if you donate”!)

• We have raised $1.2+ million dollars previously for the Cal Legends NIL, we can certainly do so again!

In the first few hours of this campaign, Cal fans have already raised $70,000+, which means over $140,000 is already in and booked from the matching.

Everything you add will help the long-term success of Cal football. Ultimately, Cal is only going to be in this as long as the entire community commits and we continue to grow that community. It’ll take a lot of small steps and a lot of people pitching in, but if it gets us closer to great wins and anchor donors, that is where we want to be.
