Ashun Shepphard, Defensive Lineman from Mississippi State, Commits to Cal Football
The California Golden Bears continue to stock up defensive depth.
The California Golden Bears had a busy weekend, and landed another commitment from defensive lineman Ashun Shepphard. The 6-3, 285 pound came from the JUCO ranks in 2024 to Mississippi State, and had a productive rotation year. He redshirted after playing only three games in 2025, preserving his final year of eligibility for Berkeley. In his junior college, East Mississippi Community, he had an impressive 2023 campaign, racking up 39 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and four sacks.
Sheppard adds more depth to Cal’s defensive line, as the Bears also landed Justin Beadles from Louisville this weekend. They have retained Cal defensive lineman with eligibility, as Derek Wilkins, Nate Burrell and Jayden Wayne all have stated they are coming back.
