Cal football lands Jacksonville State transfer center Daveion Harley
The California Golden Bears have done well in rebuilding the offensive line.
New offensive line coach Famika Anae continues his work at bolstering offensive line depth, as Cal landed another big man up front in Jacksonville State center Daveion Harley. The Conference USA offensive lineman made his commitment to the Bears yesterday afternoon.
Harley will have two years left of eligibility with the Bears. He played in 13 games and made eight starts last season, grading out well in pass protection. At 6-2, 305 pounds, Harley could be the intimidating force the Bears need to power the run game up the middle if Anae can help fully develop his skillset these next two years.
Cal lost two offensive linemen in the transfer portal period in Dylan Jemtegaard and Trent Ramsey, both of whom played very limited snaps during their time with the Bears. Ramsey got center snaps during spring practice, but it appears the Bears were leaning heavily on winter transfers like Tyson Ruffins or Lamar Robinson to take snaps at center. Harley figures now to enter that competition. Cal also recruited Jordan Moko and Lajuan Owens, so there is a lot of fall camp battles we can anticipate to win the starting roles up front.
Welcome to Cal Daveion! Go Bears!

Famika holds the keys to the season.
OL is by far our most critical position. Welcome!
