Cal Adds More Size at Offensive Tackle With the Commitment of Mississippi State's Jimothy Lewis
Cal adds another big body blocking for Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele.
Cal has set about refreshing their offensive line room with a fury we will come to expect from the Lupoi tenure. With Daveion Harley, LaJuan Owens, Nick Morrow, and Leon Bell all entering the portal, adding to the offensive line became even more important than usual. Enter: Jimothy Lewis. The 6’6” 320 pound OT, who joins South Dakota’s Jacob Arop, and FIU’s Mykael Rabess as the latest additions to the offensive line. Arop technically is the smallest of the three, at 6’6” 300 lbs.
A Ridgeland, MS native, Lewis played right tackle for the Mississippi 6A state title winners Madison-Ridgeland Academy in his sophomore year of high school, before transferring to IMG Academy to finish his secondary education. Lewis will land in a transfer group of similar bodied o-lineman with high athletic upside and boundless raw potential.
Lewis made seven appearances for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, including four starts at left tackle. Earlier this week Lewis visited the University of Alabama, so this is a major portal win. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

More to come from me about this on Monday, and there's lots of portal time left to change things, but I think this will probably be the single more important commitment Cal gets this offseason. Not the best, not the most talented. But probably the most important.
We also got his teammate, DL Ashun Sheppard
