Notre Dame college football betting “consensus” odds is California +10.5, as of the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 13, according to VegasInsider.com, which aggregates the available odds at legal sportsbooks in the U.S. Available odds range between California +9.5 and California +11.
The latest college football betting odds imply the California Golden Bears will lose by anywhere from 9 to 11 points to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday, Sept. 17.
U.S. sportsbooks currently offer a total score bet of 41 points for “over-or-under” bets, according to VegasInsider.com.
The Cal v. Notre Dame college football betting line opened at California +13.5 on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2:52 p.m. Pacific at the Fanduel Sportsbook, according to VegasInsider.com.
Betting trends this week have overwhelmingly favored Notre Dame.
According to VegasInsider.com, 75% of all point-spread bets through Tuesday evening have been on the Fighting Irish, making up 68% of all dollars wagered with the point handicap. Nearly all of the money bet as “moneyline” bets (93%) have been placed on Notre Dame so far. Moneyline bets pay on the winner regardless of the point differential.

Saturday’s contest between California and Notre Dame is the fifth in their series. The first content was in 1959, and the last time the two teams faced off was 1967. Notre Dame is undefeated against California.
California and Notre Dame are 1-1 against the spread in the 2022 college football season. Last week, California defeated the UNLV Rebels at home 20-14, while they were two-score favorites. Similarly, Notre Dame was upset by Marshall, 21-26, despite being three-score favorites.
California has a 1-1 record for over-or-under bets. The Golden Bears earned an “over” win against the UC Davis Aggies to start the season, but last week’s game against UNLV underwhelmed Las Vegas’ oddsmakers.
Both of Notre Dame’s games have resulted in wins for “under” bettors this season. The Fighting Irish managed only one touchdown in its 10-21 loss against the Ohio State Buckeyes in their season opener and missed the total count of 48 by one point last week in its 21-26 decision against Marshall.
California head coach Justin Wilcox has a 3-2 record in away-game openers, although the victories have been close. The Golden Bears beat North Carolina 35-30 in 2017, 21-18 at BYU in 2018, and 20-19 at No. 12 Washington in 2019.
Notre Dame regularly faces off against the Pac-12 Conference’s USC Trojans and Stanford Cardinal. The Fighting Irish are 41-18-1 against the Pac-12 in South Bend, Ind. Its only loss against a Pac-12 side was against Arizona in 1982.

I know odds are and aren't, this and that but if I was to marry a QB like Lenny I would bend over and let Notre Dame cover. I said, "no QB" but give the Irish some qwedit. I have to before I pic. The indians in a two games. I like calzzzz, ok. And the kracken to start around October 11. Peace.
Cal can beat ND if, and that is a big IF, the defense gives the new ND QB no space to breath and get into a rhythm. This is a winnable game even with our poor OL.
