Cal Football: RB Bradrick Shaw enters the transfer portal
The transfer from Wisconsin re-transfers.
Bradrick Shaw’s brief time in the blue and gold may be coming to a close as he announced on Twitter last week that he has entered the transfer portal to explore other schools for his final year of eligibility.
Shaw transferred to California before the 2020 season—he joined us from Wisconsin, where he and Coach Wilcox overlapped for the 2016 season.
In the short, stupid COVID season, Shaw played in three of our four games—UC L.A., Oregon State, and Oregon—and was able to score once in our win over the Pac-12 Champions.
Luckily, we’re still fairly deep at running back. Christopher Brown Jr. will likely be our starter with Marcel Dancy coming in off the bench, particularly as a shiftier option. Further depth will likely predominately come in the form of DeCarlos Brooks, Chris Street, and Damien Moore—Moore in particular dazzled as a lightning-fast true-freshman last year, putting up over 100 yards on the ground in the Big Game. Despite all of these options, it would have been nice to have Shaw next year as our bruiser powerback. Or—with the transfers of Drew Schlegel and Zach Angellilo and the depletion of our fullbacks—I’d be curious to see if Shaw could have slid over.
Thanks to Bradrick for his brief time here and we wish him the best of luck in his final year of college football!

Thanks Bradrick. But I wonder if he finished his master's degree in one year? Why transfer in for one season and then opt-out? Maybe there is something going on with Musgrave which is driving the kids away?
